Upcoming events

Recently, I announced the dates and times of a number of upcoming events, which I am either running or speaking at. For easy reference, I’ve listed them in this blog post.

Talks

Saturday 19 January 2019:

‘A world’s-width from Kamakura: Travelling to Japan through the Stereoscope’, London Nineteenth Century Graduate Conference, at the Institute of English Studies. Further information, including full programme and timings, available here.

Tuesday 29 January 2019:

‘Always Slightly Somewhere Else: Ravilious in Sussex’, Bitesize Talk at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery. No need to register in advance, just come to the Museum in time for the start of my talk at 12pm. The talk is free with entry to the Museum. If you use Facebook, and would like a reminder, just click ‘going’ on the Facebook event here.

Heritage Meet-ups

These events are run in conjunction with PCSO Daryl Holter, the Heritage Crime Advisor for Sussex Police. They are an opportunity for anyone working, volunteering, or interested in heritage to meet for friendly, informal discussion. Please do bring friends and colleagues along with you – ice breakers in the form of interesting historical objects/items also welcomed! All Meet-ups start at 6.30pm.

Thursday 31 January 2019: Falmer Bar, University of Sussex.

Saturday 2 March 2019: The Snowdrop Inn, Lewes.

Saturday 6 April 2019: The Bath Arms, Brighton.

Saturday 4 May 2019: Falmer Bar, University of Sussex.

Saturday 8 June 2019: Pelham Arms, Lewes.

Saturday 6 July 2019: Creams, Brighton.

Again, if you use Facebook, and would like reminders about the events, you can find a list of the Meet-ups under the Events tab on my Facebook page here – just click the one you’d like to attend, then hit ‘Going’.

Hooters Ramble

Those of you that follow my blog fairly closely may remember that I set up a Facebook group last summer, called The Heritage Hoot. We would like to run a few walks for members of the Hoot – and any other interested parties – over the summer of 2019. If you have any suggestions for walks or routes please get in touch here! Walks should be suitable for all levels (with suitable views and a pit stop for refreshments at a suitable establishment).

I look forward to seeing you at one of the events above, please do get in touch if you have any suggestions or would like to set up Heritage Meet-ups in your area.
